Complete List of Vitamins Required by Human Metabolism its Deficiency disease & Source

Dear Readers, In this post you will Read about Complete List of Vitamins Required by Human Metabolism: it's Deficiency diseases & Sources  – This is very Important for SSC CGLSSC CHSLVYAPAMIBPS etc Exam
  1. vitamin is an organic molecule (or related set of molecules) which is an essential micronutrient - that is, a substance which an organism needs in small quantities for the proper functioning of its metabolism - but cannot synthesize it (either at all, or in sufficient quantities), and therefore it must be obtained through the diet.
  2. Most vitamins are not single molecules, but groups of related molecules called vitamers.
  3. Vitamins are classified by their biological/chemical activity, not their structure.
  4. Vitamins are classified as either fat soluble (vitamins A, D, E and K) or water soluble (vitamins B and C).
  5. In the mid-1930s the first commercial yeast-extract vitamin B complex, and semi-synthetic vitamin C supplements as tablets became available. This was followed in the 1950s by the mass production, and promotion of vitamin supplements, including multivitamins, to prevent vitamin deficiencies in the general population, but is thought to be of little value in healthy people. The addition of vitamins to staple foods(food fortification) has prevented folic acid and vitamin B12 vitamin deficiencies. The oral administration of certain vitamins during pregnancy prevents both maternal and fetal vitamin deficiencies.
  6. The term vitamin is derived from the word vitamine, coined in 1912 by biochemist Casimir Funk, who isolated a complex of micronutrients essential to life, all of which he presumed to be amines. When this presumption was later determined not to be true, the "e" was dropped from the name.
